Work With Me

Selective partnerships for brands that care about runners — not vanity metrics.

Who Am I

I'm James Ursini — husband and dad first, runner next. Based in San Diego. By day I work in group and corporate sales at Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Outside of that, I train, race, and share what actually happens in a training week: race recaps, shoe rotations, and the honest middle of a build.

I finished my first marathon in Sydney at 4:52:23. I'm training for the TCS New York City Marathon on November 1, 2026. I partner with brands I use — selectively — and I write for runners who want useful content, not noise.

Audience

Built for all runners — from people lining up for their first half to folks deep in a marathon block. The content is race- and training-first: what I wore, how the workout went, what I'd change next time. Not dad-influencer tropes. Not viral bait. Straight talk for people who run.

Platforms

Proof

  • Sub-2 New York City Half Marathon

  • Sydney Marathon — 4:52:23 (first marathon)

  • Training for TCS New York City Marathon — November 1, 2026

  • Consistent race-recap and shoe-rotation content on Instagram and the site

Content Pillars

  1. Race recaps — what the day felt like, splits, shoes, what I'd do differently

  2. Shoe rotation and gear — what's on my feet and why, without the hard sell

  3. Training talk — blocks, long runs, the weekly reality between races

  4. Family and life around the sport — husband and dad first

  5. BJJ — blue belt; another kind of training that shows up in the highlights

  • Gear rotation feature (site + Instagram)

  • Multi-touch race campaign (pre / race day / recap)
